ArtCircle London Presents: An Exclusive Tour of Henry Moore's Legacy Date: 18 May, Saturday A full day tour starting and finishing in London visiting theHenry Moore Foundation, Perry Green, Hertfordshire. Join ArtCircle London for an intimate and enlightening tour on 18 May, where we delve into the world of Henry Moore, one of the most significant British artists of the twentieth century. Sue Grayson Ford MBE and John are honored to share their enormous admiration for Henry Moore with you. This event is not merely a tour; it is a celebration of art, history, and the enduring impact of Moore's sculptures and achievements. Our guide Sue Grayson Ford MBE will offer personal insights based on working closely with the sculptor on his 80th birthday exhibition at the Serpentine Gallery. John Farnham, who worked as Moore's assistant for over 30 years and knows the work intimately. 'Sculpture is an art of the open air: for me its best setting and complement is nature.' Henry Moore We will see 21 epic bronze sculptures displayed across the magnificent 70-acre estate, which he developed as an ideal setting for his work. The selected pieces reflect subjects he explored throughout his 65-year career: mother & child, reclining figure and interlocking forms. In the amazing maquette studio, we will see the animal bones, rocks and shells which inspired the huge outdoor works, and which he collected throughout his life. The 16th century Aisled Barn houses tapestries made in collaboration with West Dean College and based on his drawings.  We will also tour Hoglands, the family home of Henry and Irina Moore for 50 years. Itinerary: - 10AM Pick-up Point: We’ll begin our tour at St Pancras where we will get on our private bus - Lunch on spot: Enjoy pre-ordered selections from the Rosey Lea café's enticing menu, offering just the right taste to complement your experience - Guided Exploration: Upon arrival, John will guide our group through the inspiring grounds and atmospheric studios of Henry Moore's estate, providing insights into the artist's environment and creative process - A Glimpse into Moore's Personal Life: Experience Hoglands, the cherished home Henry Moore shared with his Russian-born wife, Irina, for half a century. Art Circle London events are exclusive for the Art Circle London group. Please note bookings from outside of the group will not be accepted. All bookings are non-refundable as the payments are made to second parties in advance. However the booking could be reassigned by the purchaser to another member of the group.
